2008 FWD Bomber Rules and Specifications

IF IT DOESN’T SAY YOU CAN DO IT,

THEN YOU CAN’T.

 

MINIMUM AGE 13 YEARS OLD, WITH MINOR AND
SPECIAL RELEASES ON FILE
.

1. Bodies: Domestic or Foreign mid-size or smaller cars. No Honda's, Acura's or Saturns. No large Cadillac's Buick's, Oldsmobile's etc. Doors cannot be cut out, except for left side for door bars only. No Body chopping of any kind. Fenders may be trimmed for tire  clearance. Front and Rear wheel wells may be removed. Stock dash is ok. No radios or mirrors. Roof, Door or Center Post cannot be removed or altered in any way. Rear wings or spoilers ar OK, not to exceed 6 inches tall, and no wider than top edge of body. No skirting of any kind. No side trim of any kind. No open hoods.

2. Seat and Belts: Stock bucket seat ok. Mandatory 5 point racing seat belts. Aluminum racing seat recommended. Window nets mandatory.

3. Roll Cage: Must consist of front and rear loop with x in back loop. Must be mounted to frame by angle or tubing from front to rear and 1 bar at bottom of rear loop side to side. Must have at least 1 bar from rear halo to rear hump and must have 2 left side door bars and 1 right side door bar and must have 1 - bar from side to side of front legs. Must have metal plate on drivers side extending 5 inches in front of seat and no shorter than 24 inches wide. Must be at least 18 gauge or .049 thickness. Top four corners of cage must have small Gussets.

4. Windshield: Screen maximum 2 x 4” or 5 bars minimum 3/8” from center to left side post.

5. Engines: 4 cylinder only -- no SHO-SVO V-Tec or high performance motor parts. No turbos No Exceptions! No aftermarket brains, prongs, or chips and NO altering stock ones. Aftermarket air cleaners OK by inspection. There will be a $100.00 Claim on Computer and Brain Boxes.

6. Fuel: Injection or carbureted. Pump gas or Racing Fuel.

7. Battery: Optional can be moved inside car or trunk but must be mounted securely. (highly recommended)

8. Fuel Tank: Stock can be used if left in stock location.
If fuel cell used there must be a fire wall between fuel cell and driver.

9. Bumpers: Stock bumper or tube. Tube bumpers must be built of maximum l l/2 “ OD and .120 thickness. Consisting of 1 bar no longer than center of tire to center of tire. Ends must be turned towards body, rounded with capped ends.  Bumper can consist of 1 top loop and 1 bottom loop no taller than 16 “ top to bottom and no wider than frame rails or  frame horns. Bumper can only be connected to frame  l/2 “ bar per side no bracing of any kind. Legs can be only extend 10 “ beyond core support. You may put small gussets where legs and main bumper connect.

10. Transmissions: Stock OEM standard or automatic. No high performance clutches or flywheels.

11. Modifications: Absolutely no modifications of car, engine, brakes or suspension, 4 wheel brakes mandatory.

12. Exhaust: Stock must run past driver. Mufflers not required.

13. Complete Fire Suits And Gloves of flame retardant clothing must be factory labeled. S A approved Helmet only.

14. DOT Tire Only: OEM Steel or aluminum wheel only maximum width 55 series and must fit 8 l/2” hoop. Grooving OK but no mud tires. Any off set wheel.

15. Re-Starts: Front wheel drive will be regular single file restarts with a cone.
